My wife and I enjoyed staying at Caroline’s cabin; it was private, with great views, and close to Shenandoah hiking. The kitchen was well supplied and the hot tub was great after a day in the mountains.

The Nest is nothing short of magical. Perched high above Chester Gap Valley, it feels like a slice of paradise—a serene haven wrapping you in a warm embrace. The calm, comfort, and peace are amplified by the rolling hills and tranquil surroundings. If you're escaping the hustle of DC or seeking a refreshing retreat, this is it. Julie is the epitome of a gracious host. Her warm hospitality shines through every detail of this impeccable home. Beyond its pristine cleanliness, it exudes charm and character, showcasing the care and love poured into crafting this beautiful space. From the unique decor to the thoughtful touches, it's not just a stay—it's an experience. As we departed, our spirits felt lifted, refreshed, and inspired. Me and my family had a great stay felt right at home and the view is amazing

The only part of the stay that didn't get 5 stars was that it wasn't quite as secluded as I'd hoped for. There are a number of homes on the road to the cabin, and a thin line of trees breaks the view. Admittedly unless you're looking for the other houses you don't notice them, so I got past that quickly enough. That said, the cabin was perfect, clean, cozy and everything worked as stated. Having grown up in the country, but living in a city now, I felt the stress melt away as soon as I stepped into the massive yard where my son and I spent a lot of time playing soccer and other sports. My son and wife really enjoyed the hot tub. The location is 15 minutes away from Luray which meant that the stars were amazing for the brief break in the clouds we got, but that it was close enough to get groceries and take out as needed. Plus it's about 20 minutes away from Front Royal so there are places to go and enjoy like Skyline or Luray Caverns. Jackie was a great and responsive host!

We really enjoyed the cabin. Views were great! The cabin was well appointed and clean. Living area was well set up and well stocked supplies. Only note for improvement was one burner was missing from the stove and we had to remove our own trash which I feel like could be included with the cleaning fee. I would definitely stay again though! Beautiful area!

we had a great experience. it's very tranquil and a very nice get away. I needed it and had a quiet night enjoying the hot tub, playing board games and just relaxing away from the real world.

Our stay at this property was fantastic—a perfect balance between tranquility and accessibility. It’s not too remote, so there’s still plenty to do nearby, yet secluded enough to enjoy a peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle. The only drawback was the steep slope leading up to the house. I’d highly recommend bringing a vehicle with a full-time AWD system, like a truck or Jeep. Unfortunately, my on-demand AWD struggled with the incline, and we had to park at the end of the driveway and walk up. Aside from that, it was an incredible getaway!

Such a beautiful property with great hosts. The tranquility here is unreal when escaping the city. The inside of the cabin is in perfect condition and the aesthetic makes you feel very cozy. TONS of private land around the cabin with hiking trails with a creek and waterfall. if you are considering booking this property, i highly recommend you pull the trigger.

We truly enjoyed our weekend at "Idyllic Mountain Home - Dog Friendly/great views"! It was all of that and more! Charlotte provided detailed info on how to run the wood stove (early March can get chilly) and we were warm and cozy on both levels all weekend. Other info about the house was very detailed. Our two corgis loved wandering around the property, which is elevated and very private! We took a hike with them on Saturday off of Skyline Drive, which was only about a half hour away; lovely! Dinner Saturday night was a milestone birthday celebration at The Inn at Little Washington, and it was worth the splurge! There's a small area near the bedroom where we set up the dogs crates and they were very comfy while we were gone. I highly recommend Charlotte's home for a weekend getaway!!

My husband, dog, and I had a great time! We stayed for two nights on the weekend. The place is definitely not easy to find on your own but Tara gave great instructions! We did have a truck, so it was easier to navigate up the hill in the snow, but for others, I would keep that in mind. The house was exceptionally clean and well stocked. The kitchen had everything you'd want, a hot pot stove, coffee machine, coffee, and a toaster oven. And the bed was really comfortable. 12 minute drive into Harper's Ferry, and walking distance to the closest C&O trail. Would definitely stay here again!

Peaceful place to relax and unwind. Huge yard to enjoy many yard games and large fire pit area. This was our second time staying here and its for a good reason. The house is great with many levels and deck space. Our favorite part is the floating deck on the water. We enjoyed fishing, getting our feet wet and tubing.

This place is every thing you may need if you’re looking for a relaxing eccentric experience, even more so if you’re an artist and need to break away to find yourself and your inspiration again. This is just what i needed to get out of my rut. I highly recommend a stay here. Beautiful beautiful beautiful, and if you come DONT forget to walk the property to see the sculpture garden, you will regret it!

I had a great stay here! This spot was exactly what I wanted and more! From the crystal lamp to the Cats of the World book, a lot of thought went into the way the place looked and what they provide for their visitors. I will definitely return here! 10/10 from me!

If you want to get away from the city (DC, VA, MD) and want to feel country living and get away from the hustle and bustle of work and life, you have to come here! This farmhouse is a hidden gem! From the moment we arrived, we were captivated by its charm. The 4 cozy bedrooms are beautifully decorated, each with its own personality and a touch of antique elegance. The attention to detail throughout the house is impeccable. Outside, the farm animals—ducks and goats—add to the experience, while the old barn gives the place an authentic feel. The kitchen is a chef’s dream, flooded with natural light, perfect for cooking and gathering. We loved the peaceful pond with fire pits (can’t wait to use them next time!). With board games, serene surroundings, and so much charm, this place is a must-visit. We’ll definitely be back in the spring or summer! Thank you so much for hosting us! What a beautiful experience we had!

Staying at Villa Maud was a dream! Beautiful property and surroundings. Maud was a friendly and gracious host and we absolutely loved being by the pool and watching the sunset from the little patio. Couldn't have asked for a better stay for my little get-away. Can't wait to return!

We came this weekend for a snow tubing trip to River Riders. There were 5 adults, 5 kids and 2 dogs and there was plenty of room for us all! The fenced in backyard was perfect and everyone enjoyed the hot tub, even in the freezing temps. The old house is super cute and has some unique qualities. It was clean, plenty of towels and everything needed in the kitchen to cook breakfast, lunches and dinners! No issues were encountered at all and we will be back in the Spring for river tubing! Highly recommended.

We had a great time and the check in process was seamless. Keith was proactive and very responsive.

This was our second stay at Janel's place and it was just as enjoyable as the first time. We loved the fireplace and views from the A frame windows. The hot tub wasn't working unfortunately, but things happen and Janel was communicative about it. Had a great weekend regardless. Also love that Janel is accommodating of dogs. Our fur babies were happy to join us on our getaway.

Very private location. The house was a nice cabin with spectacular views and comfortable furnishings. Very spotty Verizon cell service, but wifi worked very well for calling and internet. Would recommend for a private get-away.

House was perfect for a large group and very clean when we arrived. There were all the necessary pans, pots, silverware, etc. for cooking for meals in the house. The host (Amber) was quick to communicate and adjust to audibles/questions from our end. Great stay for a large group. Would highly recommend.
