The house was wonderful. The house was spotless and had everything we needed. Our family loved how peaceful it was.

Very quiet, out-of-the-way place. I was there when the lake was down (December) so I didn't get to enjoy the dock, but it looks nice and functional. The recreational room downstairs had a pool table, dart board, and a place to play checkers. The entire place has been remodeled recently. It looks great and everything works! The Host was always quick to answer questions. Would come back again!

Beautiful lake and surroundings! My pup and I loved the kayak. It was so nice to have everything provided, including life jackets. The bed and pillows were amazingly comfortable!

Our visit was fantastic. Check in was very straightforward and the building was clean and kitchen well stocked with everything we need for cooking. Private dock is an easy walk down a small hill, much more convenient then other homes on the lake. Nearby marinas and restaurants were a blast and everyone in our group enjoyed our stay. Would love to stay at this home again in the future.

This is such a cute house right on the lake. The photos are just like the house really looks - a very pretty interior, everything is clean and the kitchen is well stocked. Communication was fast and easy, we had a great stay!

We were so delighted with our short stay at Paddler's Retreat. Denys is the most generous of hosts who provides so many little extras to make your visit comfortable and so pleasant. The evening serenade by the migratory Sandhill Cranes was a special treat. We can't wait to return when we can enjoy all the backyard and warm weather river and outdoor activities available at this home and in this area. Highly recommend!

Loved visiting Heron landing. It was about 1 mile from my 90 year old grandparents. We had plenty to do. Boating, fishing, jet ski, paddle board. Really enjoyed our trip. Hoping to be back for the next few years.

I played chauffeur on this trip to a friend who recently had a stroke and could not travel long distances alone, so that he could attend a local ceremony for his brother. We needed a place to stay that was quiet, serene, and handicapped accessible. Michael's lodge was all that, and matched the photos in his listing to a tee. Beautiful lakeside grounds, complete with dock and a shoreline seating area with fire pit. I had the privilege of meeting Michael and his wife on arrival - they are friendly, very personable, polite, and extremely helpful - the best example of "southern hospitality" you could ask for. I would highly recommend this place for anyone who enjoys nature and the outdoors, especially if they enjoy fishing!

This is our second stay at the lake house and it absolutely exceeded our expectations (again). Last year we had all sunny weather, but this year we had a little rain during the weekend which actually allowed us to take even better advantage of the house. From watching the rain from the peaceful back porch to the many board games inside, we had plenty to do. The location is private (we saw 2 people walk down the road one time) and the access to the lake cannot be beat. Katie is easily the best Airbnb host I’ve had the pleasure to work with - very proactive in communication and responsive to any questions. I could go on and on, but just trust me when I say, this house is an absolute gem.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay again! The view is beautiful. Loved the big windows and all the natural light. The dog run was perfect for our dog. The home was clean and had everything we needed. Oksana was super responsive, informative, and proactive about a frozen pipe issue before we got there. Water was provided in case the pipes happened to freeze again during our stay, but it wasn’t needed. We appreciated the host’s attentiveness and care.

This was our second time visiting the property and we had a great time. The host was very responsive we added a couple of days to our visit and it went very smoothly. The views from the property are great and walking distance to the Winchester town square. Very dog friendly with a great deck over looking the Tim’s Ford water. We will definitely stay again and experience the property in the summer season. Highly recommend.

Great view. Love that there was water under dock at time of lowest lake levels and that the walk to dock wasn’t steep. Very responsive host. We had a very nice, peaceful weekend.

Harry & Sarah are great hosts, they are responsive and willing to go above and beyond to help with issues. I definitely would stay there again. They have nice neighbors too. 🙂

The home is absolutely gorgeous and the views are breathtaking! I especially enjoy the beautiful sunrise and sunsets filled with color. It’s also relaxing to see the smoke rising off the lake with morning coffee. Everything in the home is comfortable especially the bedding and towels. You definitely feel you are at a beautiful retreat. Cerina the host goes above and beyond to welcome you and to make sure you have everything you need. It is one of my favorite locations to visit. We have stayed there twice and will continue to come back. It’s a 10 out of a 5 rating! I highly recommend it.

We loved our stay here the space was great beautiful views. We enjoyed having our privacy yet still close to lots of things to do. The space had everything we needed for cooking very clean we loved sitting on the back porch this space is great for couples or small families just getting away. Joe was a great host he was very responsive to anything we needed. We can’t wait to visit again this summer. We would defiantly recommend this spot.

Kailani was so responsive and helpful along the way. The house was just as described, and was just what we were looking for. We loved the lake and eating dinner under the lights out back!

The place was lovely. We had a great time. The kids really enjoyed all the available games (and hot tub) on site. We had a group of 7 which was comfortable however wouldnt recommend more as the home is on the more quaint side. The view was unmatched and being at the end of the street gave such a sense of privacy. While the home is "off the beaten path" the additional time needed to get there from the attractions were well worth it. The home had everything needed for our stay which was such a relief when it came to packing. I would recommend the home to anyone looking to stay in the area but would like some privacy and easy access to the lake. Thank you for the amazing hospitality.

We had an amazing early Thanksgiving stay with a group of 20 family members! The place was incredibly spacious, with plenty of lounging and seating areas to accommodate everyone comfortably. The two ovens were a huge plus for preparing our holiday meal, making cooking a breeze. We had everything we needed for a perfect gathering, and we highly recommend this property. We’re already looking forward to coming back!

The cabin matched the description & pictures. Perfect for our family get together, when you live in different states coordination efforts can be a challenge. There was plenty of space, things to do around the cabin, everything you could think of or want in a kitchen, plenty of linens and items to use. They were very proactive in checking in on us, but we were so busy that we just didn't need anything. We even got a daily visit from Daisy, she's not lost she is just the welcoming crew. Items to note that did not bother us, but some may not be used to it. These are mountain roads and can be a little tricky & the driveway has a steep drop, if you are from FL this could be an initial adventure for you. But really not bad. The internet is exactly as stated, it can be spotty so if you are coming up to Netflix & chill you might want a back up plan and enjoy the outdoors. It worked perfect until the last day it was in and out. So we just played outside! We would definitely recommend!

This is a GREAT place for families or groups. Especially those who are active. Lots of room to move around. Appears that the owners are constantly reinvesting and keeping adding to the property and what it offers. Seeing eagles daily was a treat. While we were off peak season, the area is well maintained and worked for us and our extended family coming from multiple locations. This home and location is highly recommended!

This spot exceeded my expectations! The beds and furniture are comfortable. It offers many inviting outdoor seating options. The fire pit area is nearby. Hosts had kindling on the pit w/firewood stacked nearby. Plenty of towels and shower supplies. Kitchen is well organized and stocked with proper working equipment. It's a tad small for the number of the cooks we had trying to be in the kitchen. 1-2 cooks works best. Empty cabinets are available for pantry items. Lots of extra pillows and blankets easily accessible. Morning coffee in the swings on the dock...perfect! The ladder getting in/out of the water is amazing. Dock gets hot in the sun so we laid towels down to walk to our shoes from the ladder. We enjoyed the kayaks and the paddle board. The pool noodles are great for floating in the water. We might bring chair floats the next time we visit. Instructions for everything was clearly explained. Seasonal decor and subtle touches made us feel very at home. Well Done!
