Sumida River is the first-class river in Tokyo. It is about 23.5 km long. It flows into Tokyo Bay. Over 950,000 people came to the Sumida River Fireworks Festival at the end of July.
Sumida river is one of the biggest river streams in Tokyo. You have many things to enjoy here! You can enjoy running in along the river park all the time, on the last week of March, you can enjoy 650 trees of cherry blossom! There are water cruise between Asakusa, Hamarikyu-garden, and Odaiba bayside shopping town, or there are the traditional restaurant cruise which is called “Yahata-Bunei”, too! It is also good just to walk around the park to enjoy the seasonal transitions.

The Sumida River is historical river in Tokyo. It branches off from the Arakawa River in Kita Ward and pours into Tokyo Bay. It is only 3 min walk from our hotel to the river. Every year in July, the Sumida River Fireworks Festival is held along the river. It is the oldest fireworks festival in Japan. It is very popular among not only Japanese but also foreigners. About 1 million people come to see the beautiful fireworks every year. There is Ryogoku Fireworks Museum near the river.
