LET'S GET OUT OF THE TOURIST AREA where it is overpriced and crowded with people!
This tour focuses on Ueno, which is not as crowded as Shibuya, Shinjuku and is less touristy. It is also famous with Japanese foodies for a good quality at reasonable prices. I'm going to take you to popular bars and restaurants for ONLY LOCALS (NO TOURISTS!!) where the staff speaks only Japanese. I will order signature dishes, and we will discuss the food and drink (and you can pepper me with questions).
We will visit 4 restaurants/taverns in total, where you will sample sashimi, grilled fish and skewered meat, etc. You will also have the opportunity to try UNIQUE Japanese alcoholic drinks (5 or more different type of drinks) and you'll be able to experience what Japanese taverns are like. After visiting these three taverns, we will end the tour at a great Ramen shop that is popular with locals. At the end of the tour, I will explain which train station you need to go, depending on where you go.
You are going to have a full-size meal on the day in several different restaurants included ramen, so again pls come hungry!

漆に金で思い思いの文様を描く蒔絵体験
"Maki-e" is a Japanese traditional art using urushi lacquer and metal powder. In this experimental class, you will decorate lacquerware using hira-maki-e—a simple technique that can be finished in one day. Even an absolute beginner, who knows nothing at all about makie, can enjoy it. During this class, you can experience real maki-e, using genuine Japanese lacquer and metal powder. You can choose a vessel and a design from various stencils. I'll prepare the tools and materials, so you do not need to bring anything to the class. After tracing the design onto the vessel, you'll draw the design with a brush for maki-e and urushi lacquer, and sprinkle metal powder on top. At the end, I'll pack your work in a box for you to take home. After leaving it overnight, simply wipe off the extra powder to use your vessel.

I grew up eating this style of ramen broth since I was a kid. I grew up in a country side so ramen was a comforting food that was always made at home.
Ramen is such a unique Japanese food though because it is the most creative Japanese food. Every ramen shop has its own creative ramen broth and toppings.
In my ramen cooking class, the most important priority is my guests can recreate this dish at their kitchen. So ingredients is quite accessible and the cooking process contains many small steps, but I want to make it as simple focused on things that are important for the best taste.
I am excited to share with you my home-style Shoyu ramen soup recipe that I have created based on the recipe I grew up eating! We’ll also make gyoza with lots of cabbage and chives, then pan-fry it bottom side up! Very classic Japanese gyoza ingredients and method of cooking. I will ask everyone to use their hands to chop, form gyoza, and present the dishes we make. There are lots of tips to learn more about Japanese culinary culture. I look forward to having you all!
*Ramen noodle-making is not included in this class, BUT I’ll share you a surprising tip to make ramen noodles using Capellini!

After that we will move to Shinjuku via the JR Yamanote Line (12 minute train ride) and show you the gritty side of Tokyo, showing you the tiniest of alleys and the main night-life spot.
The tour/photoshoot is going to be around 2-3 hours.

Join us for a bar hopping tour in the unique and vibrant Shinjuku area! Our team will ensure you have the best night possible!
We'll visit Omoide Yokocho, Kabukicho, and Golden Gai, taking you to hidden izakayas and bars that only locals know about!
The tour starts in the red lantern-adorned local izakaya area of Omoide Yokocho or the bustling district of Kabukicho.
Next, we'll head to Kabukicho, Japan's largest neon-lit entertainment district, where interesting shops and unique characters will leave a lasting impression.
Afterward, we'll visit the Golden Gai area. As we have connections to bars that don't accept general customers, our tour will grant you access to these hidden gems. Let's enjoy various alcoholic beverages together here.
We generally go to the places mentioned above, but there may be times when we can't go to bars or izakayas due to circumstances. If you're worried about where we're going, feel free to ask in advance, and we'll provide the locations for the day.

Personal Photographer & Walking Tour
We will meet and start at the busiest train station in the world, Shinjuku station east exit. Then we will walk to the atmospheric alleyways of Omoideyokocho, where we can see a plethora of small Japanese izakayas that mostly offers yakitori or chicken skewers. Then next we will walk to the Kabukicho area, This entertainment district is filled with bright lights, bars, restaurants, and pachinko parlors as well as touts and hustlers. This place is also where you can find the famous Godzilla road and then from there, we will go to the Golden Gai, which is a collection of mismatched tumbledown bars lining alleyways.
After this, (IF TIME PERMITS) We can also move to Shibuya, via the JR Yamanote line train and show you the young and vibrant visual of Tokyo.
In daytime, we can detour to one of Tokyo’s most popular parks, the Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden. The park's spacious lawns, meandering walking paths, and tranquil scenery provide a relaxing escape from the busy urban center around it. (Park’s entrance fee not included)
The tour is going to be approx. 2 hours.

I am a part of a big team, we organize a group tour every weekend in Roppongi, Tokyo. Majority of my guests are from different parts of the world, and some locals. This is a very high energy pub crawl atmosphere. The agenda consists of hopping 3 bars and always ending the night at a club! The average age range of my guests are usually between mid 20s to early 30s. If you enjoy bar hopping and mingling with other travelers to share your experiences abroad, this party is for you! Since I have connects with a lot of the bars and clubs in the area, all of my guests receive 50% discount at the bars we go to (the bars will have a discounted menu that you can order from), and also a LOOOT of free shots (bottle shots of Jager, Vodka, Whiskey Tequila..all night long.. middle shelf stuff, not bottom) from me and complimentary shots from the bars throughout the night! We will explore the greater part of Shinjuku, the busiest area in Tokyo to show you popular spots as well as hidden gems. We'll have a couple of bites during the city walk. We'll then head to two izakaya restaurants that are popular among the locals. Places we visit range from modern to traditional, and if you are looking to try just ramen and sushi, this might not be the right one for you. Throughout the evening, we’ll taste different Japanese foods and drinks, learn about our pub food culture and history, and spend time with other foodies. Also, we offer an optional sake tasting session where we will try 5+ different craft & seasonal sake at our own sake bar in Shinjuku before the tour at 3:30pm (optional & price not included).

ホストの自宅で和食のクッキング教室＆発酵食品の秘密を学ぶ体験
You will get to take part in a cooking class that focuses on healthy fermented (hakko) foods and seasonings. The class is taught by host Takako, who has amassed a wealth of experience serving exquisite Japanese food outside overseas as the wife of a diplomat over many years and who has also served as a Japanese chef at overseas diplomatic missions.
You will get to do a tasting of various fermented seasonings such as miso, soy sauce, and vinegar and learn about the different ingredients and production areas. You will also get to eat a delicious lunch prepared by the host using the various fermented seasonings. The lunch will consist of simple Japanese dishes that you can easily replicate at home as well as some creative original Japanese dishes that have proved popular with overseas guests.
After your meal, you can go shopping at the nearby “Hakko Department,” in Shimokitazawa Bonus Track, where you can learn even more about the many unique fermented products on display from all over Japan.

I am providing you “like-no-other” experience here.
You will gain the following 3 things mainly.
1. Authentic Japanese Calligraphy Lesson
2. To complete your work as the BEST souvenir of Japan.
3. Experience of the mindfulness state of your heart.
The flow of this lesson is…
①You can learn the basic of Japanese calligraphy including the 8 basic strokes of brush-writing (If you get the technique, you can write most of the kanji characters cool!!), how to hold a brush and the origin of kanji characters etc. I'll kindly show you how to write with a brush in front of you and give you advice. If you are a beginner, don't worry at all! I believe that hands-on is the most enjoyable!
② You chose your favorite kanji or word and practice writing them by using the brush-writing techniques you learn from me.
③ You may mount your best work on the beautiful Japanese paper to complete your original hanging scroll, if you like!!
During & After this lesson…
You will feel that you relax your body, quiet your mind, and open your heart, then you’ll also visualize what you wanted to manifest.

First, we'll meet at Ikenoue station on keio-Inokashira line. We will walk together to my home (5 mins), along the way I will show you our charming shopping street full of small cute shops.
Once we reach my home, our friendly cats will greet you at the door step (most of the time) You can interact with our cats, playing with them using balls and cat toys in the spacious sunny living room. I will provide some sweet and a drink.
I will also provide map link for several lunch recommendation near my house so that you can go after this experience.
シェフと一緒にラーメンをつくろう
I grew up eating this style of ramen broth since I was a kid. I grew up in a country side so ramen was a comforting food that was always made at home.
Ramen is such a unique Japanese food though because it is the most creative Japanese food. Every ramen shop has its own creative ramen broth and toppings.
In my ramen cooking class, the most important priority is my guests can recreate this dish at their kitchen. So ingredients is quite accessible and the cooking process contains many small steps, but I want to make it as simple focused on things that are important for the best taste.
I am excited to share with you my home-style Shoyu ramen soup recipe that I have created based on the recipe I grew up eating! We’ll also make gyoza with lots of cabbage and chives, then pan-fry it bottom side up! Very classic Japanese gyoza ingredients and method of cooking. I will ask everyone to use their hands to chop, form gyoza, and present the dishes we make. There are lots of tips to learn more about Japanese culinary culture. I look forward to having you all!

HistoricTour including Lucky Cat Temple Gotokuji in Tokyo
I meet with guests at Gotokuji Station of Odakyu Line from Shinjuku Station (15 min). The highlight of the tour is visiting Setagaya City's historic sites. Setagaya City is basically residential area and quiet (not crowded), so you can exprience true Tokyo Local life.
First, we walk to Gotokuji Temple, which is built in the late 15th century and famous for beckoning or lucky cat as well as family graves of Ii-Family who played an important role of Tokugawa Shogunate in Edo Era (17th to 19th century) .
I will explain the history of the temple and the reason why the cat became a symbol of the temple.
Then, visiting Setagaya Hachimangu Shrine started in the late 11th century. Shrine is a facility of Japan's native religion "Shinto". This shrine is the biggest one in Setagaya City and famous for dedicated sumo wrestling ceremony starting in 11th century.
I explain the types of Shrines and the features of them. Besides, I explain the history and uniqueness of this shrine.
Then, we walk to another temple, Shokoin Temple, the family temple of Setagaya Kira Family who ruled this district from 15th to 17th century.
As the last visiting spot, we move to Setagaya Magistrate Mansion built in Edo Era that is only one remined in Tokyo Metropolitan.
Thus, guests can learn how this area was historically developed as the center of Setagaya City and enjoy quiet and sacred atmosphere.
